Minors In Prevention Program Format:
Session #1 — 6:00pm–9:30pm
GSSAC's Prevention Center
(8104 E. Sprague Avenue, Spokane Valley)

Victim/Survivor Stories: Speakers with personal experiences focusing on injuries and deaths caused by drug/alcohol/poor choice situations. Speakers include those in recovery and parents who have lost their children.

Local Law Enforcement: Discussion of laws, how alcohol impairs the body, and personal stories that involve death notifications.

Session #2 — Two hours
American Medical Response (AMR)
(915 W. Sharp Avenue, Spokane)

Students will be assigned and complete a two-hour visit to American Medical Response (AMR). They will observe the "Trauma Medics Talk Tough" presentation given by an AMR medic and will also be given a tour of the ambulances and facility.

Session #3 — 6:00pm–9:30pm

Victim/Survivor: The reality of living with the consequences of choices, including alcohol/drug-related traffic crashes.

Final Impact: Survivor stories and decision-making skills. Each student will bring a pre-assigned 500-word essay to this final session discussing his/her experience in the MIP program.

One 3.5 Hour Class
First Wednesday night of each scheduled month

This one-time class is a comprehensive, truthful look at the reality and consequences of making poor choices and participating in high-risk behaviors. Each participant will have the opportunity to interact with presenters and program staff.
