My Choice Program Format:
One 3.5 Hour Class
First Wednesday night of each scheduled month
Holy Family Hospital
(N. 5633 Lidgerwood)
6:00pm–9:30pm
This
one-time class is a comprehensive, truthful look at the reality
and consequences of making poor choices and participating in
high-risk behaviors. Each
participant will have the opportunity to interact with
presenters and program staff.
Medical Examiner’s Presentation and Tour of the Morgue:
Information
regarding deaths caused by alcohol/drugs, the autopsy process,
and a guided tour of the morgue
Local Speaking Groups:
A
presentation on personal experiences focusing on injuries and
deaths caused by drug/alcohol/poor choice situations
Local Law Enforcement:
Discussion
of laws, how alcohol impairs the body, and personal stories that
involve death notifications
Victim/Survivor:
The
reality of living with the consequences of alcohol/drug
incidents and/or poor lifestyle choice making
Evaluation:
Each
student will complete a one-page evaluation of the program at
the end of the evening

In Prevention students who will be participating in a
10-hour program. The first session is the same for both
programs.
